Sea Life Centre, Scarborough - bad reviews!?

Postby MarkP7 » Tue May 19, 2009 8:27 am

Has anyone been to the Sea Life centre lately in Scarborough?

I was hoping to take some friends who were visiting me this Summer, but I've just read some shocking reviews on TripAdvisor! Is it really that bad?

Wow, I wasn't expecting such an in depth answer to my question I have to say! :)

Sounds like you had a good day out at the Sea Life centre though so thanks for putting my mind at rest. It isn't cheap, so reading all those poor reviews on TripAdvisor was making me a bit nervous about splashing out for all the tribe!

I did think the guy at Sea Life skirted around the fact that all the reviews on TripAdvisor were bad though and instead highlighted their own customer satisfaction reviews - these are always going to be better than TA.

Anyway thanks again - great job! Loo forward to setting you some more challenges in the future! :)

The pleasure was all mine, so thank you for the challenge. Can’t guarantee to run with everything, but I’ll do what I can.

I received a follow up email from Mark Oakley, in which he made this promise:
“Rest assured the issues you raised will be investigated and acted upon.”

So they are clearly responding to the report and that’s got to be good for all.

I think it must be a bit obvious from the quality of mi writing skills, that I’m no hack, but I do have a background in journalistic photography / photo journo... not paps, so I’m quite happy to put my foot through the door and respond where and when I can - to serious issues like this one that are raised in the forums.

Thanks again.

Absolute is a great report - I hope it does the trick - when I visited with my family it was very expensive and just not woth the entry fee. I also agree that teh report althoug was exceptional - the chappie ffrom sea life didnt really take onboard what everyone was sayin - that is its not very good value for money. There are other places in Yorkshire where you can get an equally good visit for less money. I paid about 40 quid for 4 of us and that would have gone along way on other attractions.
