Yorkshire Customers Ask 'Ow Much?

Postby EdnaAndMary » Fri Apr 16, 2010 1:38 pm

Customer research carried out by Yorkshire Water has highlighted that nearly 40% of customers do not know what they are paying or what they get for their money when it comes to their water bill.

In a move to change this, Yorkshire Water, with the help of two Yorkshire spokes-grannies - Edna and Mary, who represent a down-to-earth, no nonsense Yorkshire approach to value - is launching its new 'Ow Much? campaign.

Edna, the more money savvy and switched on of the comedy duo, features alongside her less astute best friend Mary, in the new TV campaign which explains 'Ow much customers in the region actually get for less than a £1 a day. The pair have begun their crusade for great Yorkshire value following their TV debut after one of their favourite soaps - Coronation Street!

The campaign seeks to educate customers on everything they get when they pay their water bill. And, with the help of Edna and Mary, in a way that will appeal to the thrifty people of Yorkshire. From free downloadable walks around the company's reservoirs, to free water saving gadgets and information on Yorkshire Water's huge investment programme - the campaign will communicate the true value of water.

Robert Salmon from Yorkshire Water said: "It's important to us that our customers understand what they get for their water bill and this is particularly important in the current economic climate."

"Edna and Mary are helping us to address this awareness gap and to tell people where their money goes in a way that is both funny and memorable."
