Hi Mark
Looking at the design of the property, what I can tell you is that there are a number of properties in and around Pickering with similar style build. There is however only likely to be one location in Pickering where such a photo could have been produced. The steep hill in the background would place the property on the road known as ‘Under Cliffe’. However, the detail in the background isn’t giving much away and therefore it is impossible to say for certain if it was taken in Pickering.
There are a few properties in ‘Under Cliffe’ of similar design, although most are terrace properties, although there is plenty of evidence that the terrace properties were originally detached and have been developed.
The best person to speak with in Pickering is a man called Gordon Clitheroe, he is connected with the Beck Isle Museum. If you are able to visit and bring your photo with you, I have no doubt he will help if he can. It would be a good idea to make an appointment first though, I think he may be part time these days.
All the best.
