Partridge
Free Photos, Helmsley, North Yorkshire
Not a pear tree in sight. Usually Partridge are a very shy and scurry away at the first sight of a human. But these two for whatever reason didn't.
In fact, I was walking through a field close to Duncombe Park, in Helmsley, when I looked down and there they were, no more that a few yards away. As I lifted the camera I figured they are bound to be off, but no. So I managed to get this shot which I am delighted with and hope to have the same luck in the future with both pheasant and grouse.
