Low Costa Mill Holiday Cottages

Self Catering, Pickering, North Yorkshire

Low Costa Mill Holiday Cottages offers a choice of seven self catering holiday cottages nestling in ten acres of peaceful woodland and pasture only a short walk from the centre of the ancient market town of Pickering. Low Costa Mill Holiday Cottages provide a stunning location where you can relax while exploring the abundance of the outstanding North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Coast and the rural villages of the moors and Ryedale.

The cottages are grouped around a courtyard next to the original farmhouse and have been sympathetically adapted from former farm and mill buildings retaining many original features such as exposed beams and brickwork.

Whatever the weather, you can be guaranteed hours of fun in the indoor heated swimming pools & jacuzzi. There's even a children's pool for the little one's - all are open from 8am to 10pm the whole year round.

Each of the cottages has a flat screen colour TV & digibox, video or DVD, conventional & microwave ovens. All except Carters Cottage, have dishwashers too. We also have an extensive DVD library.

For Fly fishing fanatics, this comes free of charge too & you will find the river which flows through our grounds is well stocked with trout & grayling. You may even catch a glimpse of the resident kingfishers & the shy grey heron going about their business.

The surrounding countryside is superb for walkers, cyclists & wildlife enthusiasts. Horse riding is available at several stables in the area too & golfers are 'well catered for', with 18 hole courses a few miles down the road at Kirbymoorside, Malton and Ganton.

Visitors always enjoy meeting the resident animals and feeding the variety of ducks on the pond and stream. We also have a large safe grass play area with swings climbing frames slides and giant outdoor board games. There are many quiet areas for relaxing and just watching the world go by. The adjacent woodland play's host to an exciting woodland walk and on the fringe is a treehouse retreat!

All bed linen and towels are provided, cots and high chairs are available on request, barbecue facilities are available, but please bring towels for the swimming pool.

We are open all year round and well behaved pets are welcome in Carters, Farriers, Harvester and Thresher cottages by arrangement with the owners.

Situated in beautiful countryside, Low Costa Mill is fortunate to have the charming market town of Pickering on its doorstep. Pickering is the official gateway to the National Park boasting a number of visitor attractions, the most famous being the terminus of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, this heritage steam railway is the longest in England and runs through the spectacular scenery of the National Park through to Whitby and the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline.

Pickering also has a 12th century castle, the ancient Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, a museum of rural life plus and a busy street market each Monday.

Coastal days out are easy to access at Whitby, Scarborough, Filey & Bridlington. There are smaller fishing villages to visit such as Robin Hood's Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes.

Children and adults alike will love Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo which is a short drive away as well as the beautiful Dalby Forest.
