Field of Rape
Free Photos, Sledmere, East Yorkshire
I took this shot near the Sir Tatton Sykes Monument, which is close to Sledmere in Yorkshire's East Riding.
I was hoping that the shot of the monument, overlooking a long field of flowering rape seed oil - would look impressive. However, the field being so long, it just looked like a telegraph pole, or some other uninteresting object spoiling the view. So in actual fact, I have cropped it out from the top right of the skyline. Now the image is of flowering rape seed oil with a contrasting clear blue sky above.
I stopped near the Sir Tatton Sykes Monument which was surrounded by cars and people enjoying a picnic, none of which would have made a great photo, so I will revisit the monument later and will include some images for you to enjoy.
