Autumn Scenes

Free Photos, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire

The Autumn scenes from The Great Yorkshire Forest of Dalby are possibly the most accessible scenes within the forest.

All of the images here were shot from the road side, demonstrating that there is no need to go off the beaten track in order to find Autumn views, views that will present a myriad of colour.

The photos were actually taken in the late Autumn season 2008, I had hoped to get into the forest earlier in the Autumn season in order to catch some of the wealth of scenery on offer, but commitments elsewhere delayed my visit, but even so - Dalby didn't disappoint, and it never does. Regardless of the season, Dalby is always able to take my breath away.

Within the forest there are a small number of working farms and the first image in this selection shows a little farm track leading down a hill to a closed gate. Just beyond the five bar gate, the stream runs under a wooden bridge. This image was taken from the main forest drive.

Image number two shows Birch trees just at the point of dropping their leaves, which are a mixture of rust red to orange and yellow. These trees actually line the roadside along the official forest drive.

Image number three is another shot of the same Birch trees.
