Traction Engine Rally

Event, Pickering, North Yorkshire

The UK's biggest Traction Engine Rally and steam fair is predicted to set new records this year, with tens of thousands of people from across the UK, Europe and beyond descending on small market town of Pickering.

The fair has grown to become a major event type attraction in the area with hotels and Guest Houses being fully booked for several months.

Visitors are treated to a steam festival with hundreds of traction engines, steam powered farming machinery, vintage vehicle shows, indoor and outdoor markets plus all the fun of the fairground.

Stage performances include a circus acts, dancing groups, singers and special guests from Britain's Got Talent: Stavros Flatley otherwise known as father and son team Dimitri and Lagi.

What once was just a small gathering of traction engine enthusiasts has grown to become one of the biggest shows of it's kind in the world and well worth a visit.
