Eight injured in car crash near Kirk Smeaton - Witness Appeal

NORTH YORKSHIRE POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Wentedge Road near Kirk Smeaton.

The incident happened at around 6.20pm on Thursday 13 April 2017 involving a red Mercedes A180 and a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

Eight people have been injured in the collision including 3 women and 5 children.

All the casualties were taken to hospital, some with minor injuries, others more serious, but not believed to be life threatening injuries.

The road remained closed for around four hours while collision investigators examined the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw either of the cars before the incident to contact them.
