Victory for the University of York in the 2017 Roses Boat Race

The Roses Boat Races, is an annual event when the rowing teams of the University of York (Home Team 2017), and Lancaster University, go head to head on the water.



On this occasion a resounding victory for the York Rowers on their home surf... the River Ouse - beating their opponents 13 to 3.

Lancaster took an early two point lead, winning the first two novice races - but were unable to hold the line when the senior teams took to the water.

York, being the stronger team 'overall' on the day.

The final score: York 13 - Lancaster: 3.
